it’s actually very sad when citizens have to EMBARASS the country into action on an evident problem.
Our country has created this problem by allowing the CANADIAN DREAM to die without replacing it with hope for the future for these people.
There have alway been people of this nature in our country but recent housing cost spikes combined with a lack of affordable housing options ( we are too busy selling it off to the highest bidders) mean that this segment of our population has grown.
Our silly handling of illegal drugs has victimized these people into horrible lifestyles and we then blame them for the misery we have created for them while profiting from their misery.
This is NOT the way of an intelligent species exercising their DUTY OF CARE TO SHARE but the neanderthal way of KILL OR BE KILLED!!!
When are we going to finish growing up into the compassionate caring people we are capable of being? There are 32 million square miles of land in this country, more than enough room for all and more.
What we lack is the combined will to create opportunity for all to create a place to call home, whatever that place may be. WE can and MUST do better than this to stem the problem and advance as a life form.
Indeed the very survival of this planet and all life forms on it are dependent on this much-needed change in the manner we deal with it.
To continue in the manner we have to date will only increase the problem and lead to our ultimate demise.
